|
James C. Chandler's career in transportation and logistics has centered on developing new markets and businesses through value based assessments that drive capital investments. Broad experience in maritime, trucking and rail industries has included the support of financing through business feasibility evaluations, fleet and company valuations tied to mergers and acquisitions, and the formulation and implementation of strategy to manage change. Consulting clients have come from industries across the transportation and logistics spectrum, and includes ports, shipping lines, equipment suppliers, freight forwarders, and waste management companies.
Mr. Chandler previously worked as a manager at Southern Pacific where he developed the methodology for evaluating branch operations to determine candidates for sale or abandonment. At Itel Transportation Services he executed all aspects of acquisitions and divestures, and was instrumental in developing the strategy that led to the creation of Itel Distribution Systems, a company that has since been absorbed into APL Logistics. As an executive at PLM Trailer Leasing, a subsidiary company he helped create and grow, responsibilities included overall branch operations as well as strategy, budgeting and purchasing. At Carlisle Leasing International, the predecessor company to SeaCube, he had responsibility for leading the development of the strategic plan. Mr. Chandler earned a Masters degree in Economics at the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance at the University of Colorado. |
